The workshop embraces the concept of a harmonious expression between elements perceived to be mutually exclusive. Based on the establishment of Left & Right atelier, students are invited to explore the architecture and fixture of the atelier. With the sample and image collected, the students extract the raw Borneo elements and contrast with the metropolitan Taiwan city. As story teller, we guide the student into relating the elements with life story and further translate into component or wearable arts. All the students are expressive in their architectural language with attention to texture, dimension, material and interaction of the piece with human and time. With that, the students has design their very own piece to tell a story.

Background of Left & Right

Left & Right is an artisanal brand focusing on story telling and capturing raw human emotion in the form of wearable arts and collectibles. Based in Kuching, Left & Right takes in inspiration from the majestic nature, simple human emotion and sincere kindness of the community. As each and every piece is hand crafted with the attention of detail in every process from melting the metal, to soldering, fine finishing and stone setting, each piece is crafted to has the characteristic of its own. Left & Right is the harmony of the logically left brain and artistic right brain, involving element of practicality into wearable art piece, putting sensibility into creativity.
